A lawsuit filed in New Jersey Superior Court alleges that Craig Theibault, President of the Regular Republican Club of Lakewood, no longer resides in Lakewood, in violation of the club’s bylaws. The club’s bylaws restrict membership to registered Republicans who are residents of Lakewood.
The lawsuit, filed by Lakewood Twp. Committee candidate Yaakov Wenger, claims that Theibault sold his home and moved to Howell, but refuses to resign from the club or relinquish control of its records and finances. The suit also alleges that other club members have relocated out of Lakewood, compromising the club’s ability to accurately represent the views of Lakewood voters.
The lawsuit states that Wenger, a longtime dues-paying member of the club, has requested records and financial information, which Theibault has ignored or refused to provide. The lawsuit seeks a court order ousting Theibault from the club and appointing a receiver to review club records and determine which other members are ineligible due to residency outside of Lakewood.
The next meeting of the Republican Club is scheduled for this Monday at Eagles Nest in Lakewood.

He never filed to be a candidate.
Wenger lives at 72 Park? That’s the Shopper office!
He is the publisher of The Shopper.
Whos a candidate? What does this have to do with candidates. If I read the lawsuit correctly this has to do with voter fraud! People saying they live in lakewood and register to vote and vote in lakewood when they don’t live in lakewood. Pretty serious crime. Who is this craig theiubault that I see is on some boards in town. And greg stafforsmith? He is a jackson resident and his name appears on so many boards of this town.
