Firefighters from several Ocean County towns rushed to a large house fire in Crestwood Village late Sunday night that destroyed a single-family home but caused no injuries.
The fire was reported around 10:22 p.m. on the west side of town. Callers told 911 operators they could see heavy flames and feared the fire might spread to nearby homes.
Assistant Fire Chief 3310, who was on his way to the scene, immediately called for more help from neighboring departments. When he arrived, the house was already fully engulfed in flames. All residents made it out safely, but officials said pets may have still been inside.
The first fire engine on scene began spraying water from its deck gun to knock down the flames, while other crews ran hoses and later used the ladder truck to continue fighting the fire from above.
Firefighters from Stations 17, 20, 39, 60, 62, and 67 joined local crews from Station 33 to help contain the blaze. It took multiple units and several hours to bring the fire under control.
No firefighters were hurt, and no residents were injured, officials said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office and the Manchester Police Department.
