Authorities are investigating a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred on Tuesday in Howell, leaving a 45-year-old Lakewood woman with life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 5:17 p.m., Howell Township Police officers responded to a crash at the intersection of US Route 9 and Lanes Mill Road. According to preliminary findings, a female driver traveling northbound in the left lane of Route 9 struck the pedestrian as she approached the intersection.
The injured woman was transported to a local hospital, where she is receiving treatment for critical injuries. The driver involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The incident is being actively investigated by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, the Monmouth County Serious Collision Analysis Response Team (SCART), and the Howell Township Police Department. No charges or summonses have been filed at this time.
