Two people were hospitalized Wednesday evening following a serious three-vehicle motor vehicle accident on Lanes Mill Road in Lakewood.
The crash occurred along Lanes Mill Road between Route 88 and Sandra Place and resulted in extensive damage to multiple vehicles, including one that rolled over. One of the patients had been ejected from a vehicle.
Both patients were transported to area hospitals for treatment. One was taken to Ocean University Medical Center, while the other was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. Their conditions were not immediately released.
Police and emergency personnel remained on the scene as they worked to clear the roadway and investigate the cause of the crash. Authorities urged motorists to avoid Lanes Mill Road between Route 88 and Sandra Place while the investigation is ongoing and traffic restrictions remain in place.
