Lakewood Township Reminds Residents: Property Taxes Due February 1st

With February 1, 2025, just around the corner, Lakewood property owners are reminded that the latest quarter’s property taxes are due. Timely payments are crucial to avoid interest and penalties.

This applies to property owners who pay their taxes directly to the Township, rather than through their mortgage lender. To make the process seamless, the Township has introduced multiple convenient payment options.

Property taxes can be paid online at Lakewood Township’s website via ACH (one-time or automatic quarterly payments) or through a one-time credit/debit card payment.

Another popular option is using the payment kiosks located outside the entrance and in the lobby of Town Hall at 231 3rd Street. These kiosks are available 24/7, accept cash, checks, and credit/debit cards, and provide detailed printed receipts for all transactions.

Trish Komsa, Lakewood Township’s Chief Operating Officer, has overseen the implementation of the kiosks, developed in collaboration with Citybase. She notes their growing popularity among taxpayers. “Residents greatly appreciate how easy the kiosks are to use, their ground-level accessibility, and the instant receipt feature, even for cash payments,” said Komsa. “The entire process is quick and hassle-free.”

For those who prefer to handle payments in person, the Tax Collector’s Office remains open during business hours, Monday through Friday. Located on the second floor of Town Hall, staff are available to assist with payment processing and to provide information on outstanding balances.

Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller emphasized the Township’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve services. “We are always working to utilize the latest technology and innovations to serve Lakewood’s residents and taxpayers in the easiest, most efficient manner,” said Miller. “The payment kiosks and our interactive Township website are just some of the tools we’ve introduced in recent years. We are committed to making local government as user-friendly as possible.”
