Lakewood Township Purchasing $4.6 Million Worth Of Vehicles And Equipment

Lakewood Township has approved the purchase of new capital equipment across various departments, totaling $4.6 million. The investment aims to enhance the township’s infrastructure and services.

The IT Department will receive new computer equipment, including laptop and monitor upgrades, networking systems, and servers, at a cost of $973,500.

The Police Department will acquire new vehicles, including Ford Explorers and Chevy Tahoes, as well as equipment such as a Blade Server System and camera upgrades, totaling $2.8 million.

The Tax Assessor’s office will receive a new vehicle for $44,000, while the Inspections Department will get new pickup trucks for $96,000.

The EMS Department will receive a new First Responder Vehicle, an ambulance remount, and a new ambulance, totaling $665,500.

The township will issue bonds or notes up to $4.3 million to cover the costs, with an average period of usefulness ranging from 5 to 9.5 years across the different departments.
