Thousands of residents gathered Thursday evening at Lake Carasaljo as Lakewood Township celebrated America’s 250th Birthday with a spectacular drone and fireworks display. The event, originally scheduled for July 5, was postponed due to inclement weather.
Crowds lined both North and South Lake Drives to watch a synchronized drone show presented by Orion Skys, commemorating the nation’s historic 250th anniversary, followed by a traditional fireworks display that lit up the night sky.
Among those in attendance were Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller, Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein, and Assemblyman Avi Schnall, along with representatives from numerous emergency service and volunteer organizations. Agencies on hand included the Lakewood Police Department, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office, Lakewood Fire Department, Ocean County Fire Marshal’s Office, Lakewood Department of Public Works, Lakewood EMS, Lakewood First Aid, Hatzolah of Central Jersey, Lakewood Shomrim, and Chaveirim of Central Jersey, all helping ensure the event ran safely and smoothly.
“It was an honor to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday with so many of our friends and neighbors,” said Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein, who serves as the township’s Emergency Services Liaison. “Special thanks to our dedicated emergency services and volunteer agencies for once again ensuring that this beautiful event was safe and enjoyable for all.”
