The Lakewood Township Committee on Thursday approved an increase of nearly $4 million in taxes on local households – coming out to a more than $550 tax increase for the average household.
Mayor Ray Coles stated that much of the tax increase is due to necessary growth in the township’s police and public works departments.

What is the assessed value of an “average home” in Lakewood?
Wondering ,if there are 13500 houses in Lakewood, how does
4000000 divided by 13500 equals to 583 ,should be around 250????????
Why isn’t all the increase in revenue from the new developments covering the increase costs????
Why wouldn’t new homes, that were built in 2022, bear the brunt of this 4MM tax increase?
Vote a normal mayor next time
