Three people were hospitalized on Motzei Shabbos after a serious crash at the intersection of Commonwealth Blvd. and Beacon Street in Pine Lake Park, Manchester.
Upon arrival at the scene of the crash, which occurred at approximately 6:02 PM, officers observed a red 2017 Subaru Legacy facing west on the front lawn of a residence on the eleven hundred block of Beacon Street with extensive front-end damage. Additionally, officers observed a silver 2006 Honda Accord facing north also located on the front lawn of a residence on the eleven hundred block of Beacon Street with extensive front passenger side damage.
The investigation revealed that the Subaru was traveling east on Commonwealth Boulevard when the Honda struck the Subaru near the front end of the vehicle.
The driver of the Subaru was identified as, 77-year-old John Biruk of Manchester, NJ. The passenger of the Subaru was identified as, 78-year-old Shirley Marziali of Manchester, NJ. Both the driver and passenger of the Subaru sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Community Medical Center for treatment where they are both listed in stable condition.
The driver of the Honda was identified as, 19-year-old Marcos Flores of Lakewood. The passenger of the Honda was a 17-year-old female who sustained serious injuries and was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center by Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health’s LifeFlight medevac helicopter. The juvenile female is currently listed in stable condition.
The investigation into the crash is still ongoing, but at this point, disregard of a stop sign by the driver of the Honda appears to be the primary contributing factor.
