Lakewood Repaves Manetta Place, Solving Long-Standing Flooding Issues

Residents of Manetta Place; located off Route 9 South, between Central Ave and James Street; are now enjoying a beautiful new road.

For years, residents have complained about improper drainage during rainstorms, which caused excessive water pooling and road damage. Lakewood Township Engineer Tony Poklasny assessed the site and presented an improvement plan to the Lakewood Township Committee, which approved and financed the project.

Manetta Place now has a new, effective drainage system; a fully repaved road; as well as bright “No Parking” striping at the dead-end, to ensure that vehicles can make smooth, safe turns.

“Once again, thanks to our dedicated team for helping us improve safety and quality-of-life in yet another location,” says Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein. “We look forward to continue working together to meet the needs of residents throughout Lakewood.”
