Lakewood Police Welcome Five New Officers Following Police Academy Graduation

The Lakewood Police Department has added five new officers to its ranks following their graduation from the Ocean County Police Academy.

Officials announced Tuesday that Patrolman J. Simpkins (#471), Patrolman B. Gomez (#473), Patrolman J. Herbert (#474), Patrolman N. Inneo (#476), and Patrolman B. Austin (#478) successfully completed training with Ocean County Police Academy Class #123.

The academy program prepares recruits for careers in law enforcement through intensive instruction in areas such as criminal law, patrol procedures, physical training, and emergency response.

Lakewood Police Chief Gregory Meyer praised the officers’ achievement and welcomed them to the department.

“This is a proud day for the Lakewood Police Department,” Meyer said in a statement. “These officers have worked tirelessly to reach this milestone. Their commitment to integrity, professionalism, and service reflects the values of our department.”

Meyer added that the department is confident the new officers will serve the Lakewood community with dedication and professionalism.
