A routine traffic stop in Lakewood earlier this month led to a drug-related arrest, according to authorities.
Members of the Lakewood Police Department Street Crimes Unit conducted a motor vehicle stop on April 9 after observing suspicious activity in the area of River Avenue. During the stop, officers continued their investigation, which resulted in the discovery of suspected narcotics and related paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
The driver, identified as Robert Sullivan Jr., 43, of Bayville, was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle.
Sullivan was later released on a summons and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
