WANTED

November 21, 2023, at 11:30 a.m., Officers Joseph Soriano and Jeffrey Emmons were in the area of 2nd Street and observed Pasqual Luna-Flores, 55, from Lakewood, N.J. from previous encounters. Dispatch confirmed active warrants and Luna-Flores was subsequently arrested.

DRUGS

On November 17, 2023, at 2 p.m., Detective Alex Guzman jr. and the other Street Crimes Unit members were in the area of 200 1st. Street and conducted a pedestrian stop, Steve Veloso, 43, from Whiting, N.J., and Margaret M. Blackwell, 38, from Whiting, N.J. were arrested for CDS-related offenses and charged with the following: Wandering Procuring, and Possession/Use of Drug Para.

Officers, Leticia Diaz, Michael Mooney Jr., Jeffrey Emmons, and Joseph Soriano assisted in the investigation.

DWI/MVA

On November 26, 2023, at 5 a.m., Officer Michael Sheehan responded to a hit-and-run crash involving a motor vehicle in the vicinity of Laurel Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene, the officer noticed a vehicle with significant front-end damage, and evidence found at the site matched the suspect vehicle. Officer Richard Uriarte conducted a canvass of the Pearl Street area and observed Guillermo Alvarez-Morales, a 52-year-old resident of Lakewood, NJ, with an open container next to the suspect vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Alvarez-Morales was the driver responsible for the crash. He was subsequently arrested and charged with the following offenses: DWI, Careless Driving, Reckless Driving, and Leaving the scene of the accident among other related charges.

Officers Julian Guzman, Adam Bylsma, and Daniel Hourigan assisted in the investigation.

SHOPLIFTING/Drugs

December 3, 2023, at 11;30 p.m., Officer Daniel Hourigan responded to a shoplifting incident at 7-Eleven. After reviewing the video footage, he described the suspect to Officer Joseph Mandelbaum, who was canvassing the area. Officer Mandelbaum located a man who matched the description and was eating the stolen items. The suspect, identified as Shane Johnson, 45, from Orange, NJ, was arrested and charged with shoplifting. During a search incident to arrest, CDS paraphernalia was found in his possession, and charged accordingly.

Officers Bryan Vega and Jacob Matthews assisted in the investigation.
