The Lakewood Police Department is recognizing Chief Gregory H. Meyer as he celebrates two significant career milestones: 10 years as Chief of Police and more than 40 years in law enforcement.
Chief Meyer assumed command of the department on August 1, 2016, and has overseen a decade of growth, modernization, and expansion within one of New Jersey’s busiest police agencies.
During his tenure, more than 40 police officers have joined the department, making the Lakewood Police Department the largest and most diverse law enforcement agency in Ocean County. Under his leadership, the department has also reestablished its K-9 Unit, which now includes five K-9 teams, launched its innovative Drone as First Responder (DFR) Program, and continues work toward implementing a Real Time Crime Center to further enhance public safety.
The department praised Chief Meyer for his decades of dedicated service, noting that reaching more than 40 years in law enforcement and leading the department for a decade are achievements attained by few.
The Lakewood Police Department thanked Chief Meyer for his leadership, commitment to the department, and dedication to the residents of Lakewood, while extending congratulations on the milestone anniversary.
