Lakewood police arrested a 23-year-old Lakewood man Saturday evening on charges of driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the township.
According to police, officers observed a white 2012 Ford pickup truck committing multiple motor vehicle violations around 6:15 p.m. on December 13 in the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Woodlake Manor Drive. The violations included unsafe driving behavior and failure to maintain a lane of travel.
After stopping the vehicle, officers determined the driver, identified as Jonathan Jair Jaimez Tochihuitl, had consumed alcoholic beverages, police said. He was taken into custody and transported to Lakewood Police Headquarters, where breath testing indicated a blood alcohol concentration above the legal limit of 0.08%.
The vehicle was towed in accordance with John’s Law. Police said Mr. Jaimez was issued summonses for driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest, and additional motor vehicle offenses.
