The Lakewood Police Department released the following statement regarding the arrest of R’ Binyomin Kubani:
The Lakewood Police Department is aware of the public concern and recent media reports regarding a July 3rd incident that has shaken trust within our community.
We recognize the seriousness of these concerns and the importance of maintaining transparency and accountability. While we are limited in what we can share at this time due to an active internal affairs investigation, we want to reassure the public that this matter is being taken with the utmost seriousness and is being investigated thoroughly and objectively in accordance with established protocols.
We ask for the community’s patience as we allow the process to properly unfold.
We remain committed to transparency, to accountability, and most importantly to the trust of those we serve.
There will never be a follow up public announcement, this is typical gaslighting in action.

What an outrageous statement after a week of failed leadership, silence and NO accommodation. It’s time to get a new chief and vote these other political hacks out of office. They have betrayed public trust and shown their true colors. Where were the community police liaison reps that are meant to communicate with the community they meant to represent? It’s time for new leadership. Get out and vote.
Silence is not leadership. You failed to communicate which absolutely inflamed the situation and community you are meant to serve. No statement within 24 hours of this event?
