Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles, Township Committeewoman Debby Fuentes and other local officials gathered on Tuesday morning at the Town and Country Shopping Center off Route 70 and Shorrock Street in Lakewood to celebrate the grand opening of the only Krispy Kreme branch in the Central/South Jersey region.
(Editor’s Note: While this Krispy Kreme does have hashgacha, it does not conform to the standards of many Lakewood residents. Check with your own rav)
Customers formed long lines, eager to get their orders in for their preferred donuts, which are all baked fresh on location. Township officials were given a tour of the gleaming modern kitchen by proprietor Karl Halligan, and discussed the preparation process with Rabbi Shloima Isaacson of KOA Kosher Supervision, which certifies the establishment.
An official Township of Lakewood proclamation was presented to Mr. Halligan in honor of the event as the ribbon was cut, to thunderous applause. “It’s always nice when a national chain like Krispy Kreme chooses to settle in Lakewood,” says Mayor Coles. “I was very impressed with their operation, which will also supply donuts to businesses throughout Monmouth and Ocean County. I look forward to a relationship that will last many years (and, I am sure, many calories).”
It always was kosher
Dear Editor,
If you want to continue walking in the zombie state of “Lakewood is great. Lakewood is amazing. We know everything what there is to know about everything” then by all means please do so.
Have you said what is wrong with the certification? No! The answer is because you don’t know yourself.. Have you inquired from the Rav Hamachshir as to what his standards are at this location other than perhaps non-CY (which means it’s going to taste a lot better!)?
You don’t get a free ticket hun rchilis and lushen hura when you sit at your computer.
Isnt it cholov stam?
Is it Cholov Yisroel ? You did not mention that
It doesn’t need to be mentioned because of course it isn’t -all the donuts come from the regional commissary
