A man was arrested by the Lakewood Police Department Sunday morning after entering the dormitory at Brudny’s Yeshiva on Cross Street and stealing multiple items.
Sources tell Lakewood Alerts that the suspect walked into the dorm while several bochurim were still asleep. He entered one of the rooms and turned on the lights. When a student questioned him, the man reportedly claimed he was there for construction work.
Sources say the suspect remained inside the building for about an hour before police were called. Officers responded to the scene, located the suspect, and placed him under arrest.
The suspect stole cash, debit cards, a scooter, driver’s licenses, and other personal belongings from the dorm.
The investigation is ongoing.
