Lakewood, Jackson Announce Adjusted Trash And Recycling Schedules Amid Snow Removal

As the Lakewood Department of Public Works continues snow removal operations, Director Phil Roux announced tentative changes to trash and recycling pickup schedules for the coming week and urged residents to keep roadways clear to assist crews.

Roux advised residents to keep all trash and recycling cans off the roads through Sunday night and early Monday morning to allow DPW crews to continue plowing and clearing streets.

Residents in Zone 1, whose regular trash pickup is on Mondays, are asked to place trash and recycling at the curb beginning at 7:00 a.m. Monday. DPW crews will begin Zone 1 pickup on Monday and continue into Tuesday and subsequent days until all routes are completed.

Residents in Zones 2 through 4 should place their cans at the curb at their regular scheduled times. However, officials noted that actual pickup may occur later in the day or on the following day, depending on snow removal and staffing conditions.

In Jackson, officials announced that residents who normally have recycling pickup on Monday will instead be serviced on Tuesday, while those scheduled for Tuesday recycling will be moved to Wednesday. Those who are usually serviced on Wednesday are being moved to Thursday; Thursday to Friday; and Friday to Saturday.
