Lakewood Girl Whose Chosson Was Murdered Launches “Hershy’s Closet”

A Lakewood resident whose chosson, Hershy Schwartz z”l, was senselessly murdered just days before their planned wedding, is turning her pain into purpose and has launched a charity in his honor.

“10 days before our wedding, Hershy was brutally murdered. I can’t even begin to explain the shock, horror, grief & excruciating pain it’s caused me and our families,” writes Rosie Brustowsky.

“My world flipped on it’s head. Our entire future was ripped away! I instantly knew I wanted to create something in his memory. To build a legacy in Hershy’s name and honor his wish! It’s the least I can do to celebrate the life of someone who would give the shirt off his own back to help another in need.”

In honor of her late fiancé, Rosie has launched Hershy’s Closet, an organization she says will be a source of financial assistance for chassanim.

“Working with vendors and donors alike to offer funds towards all wedding purchases. From suits to Shabbos candles & everything in between. By supporting Hershy’s closet, you’re playing an integral role in the building of a beautiful, new, Jewish home.”
