Lakewood Firefighters Earn Their Basic Pump Operations Certificates [PHOTOS]

Over the last two weeks, members from the Career Staff and Volunteer Staff of the Lakewood Fire Department attended a standalone TRFTC Pump Class.

Topics covered during the class were: Tank to Pump, Pumping from a pressurized source, Drafting, Relay Pumping, Pumping to a Ladder, Pumping through a ladder pipe, maximizing supply line flows, supply engine pumping operations, attack engine operations, pumping multiple handlines, fully dressing hydrants, sprinkler, and standpipe operations.

At the end of the scenarios today, students were able to achieve and sustain 2550gpms through two Deck Guns, and a master stream device atop the Ladder.

The Class then sat for the written exam following today’s hands on. All students passed and were awarded their Basic Pump Operations Certificate.
