As the pre-Pesach/Spring Cleaning season kicks into full gear, the Lakewood Department of Public Works (DPW) announced that it has extended the hours when residents can drop off bulk trash at Department headquarters.
DPW Director Phil Roux says that from Monday, March 24th, through Wednesday, April 9th, drop-off will be open on Monday-Friday from 7:00 am through 10:00 pm, providing residents with an additional seven hours a day to dispose of their trash. On Thursday, April 10th, the site will be open overnight from 7:00 am on Thursday through Friday, April 11th, at 3:00 pm.
The drop-off site is located at 1 America Avenue, near the intersection of Cedarbridge and New Hampshire Avenues. Virtually all forms of bulk trash – including wood, metal, electronics, etc.- are accepted at the site. (Non-accepted items include construction material, paint and other hazardous material.)
“Lakewood Township is happy to once again offer extended drop off hours to our residents during this busy season,” says Mayor Ray Coles. “This allows folks to dispose of items at their convenience, rather than being forced to do so during inconvenient times, or being unable to get it done altogether.”
