Lakewood DPW Concludes Fall Leaf Collection, Residents Can Request Additional Pickups

The Lakewood Department of Public Works (DPW) has officially concluded its annual fall leaf collection for 2024, after completing curbside pickups throughout November and December.

Regularly scheduled leaf collections will not resume until November 2025. However, residents with remaining leaves in front of their homes can still request a collection by contacting the DPW directly.

DPW Director Phil Roux encourages homeowners to call 732-905-3405 to submit a collection request. Pickups will be scheduled based on availability, with crews currently operating one day a week for leaf collection. Roux advises submitting requests promptly to avoid delays.

Residents are reminded to rake leaves to the curb, aligning them as if parking a car. Piles must consist of leaves only – no branches, dirt, or debris – and should remain loose, not bagged. Additionally, leaves must be placed at least 10 feet away from storm drains to prevent clogging and flooding.

“The DPW looks forward to continuing to work together with residents to keep Lakewood clean, safe, and beautiful,” said Roux.
