Lakewood Busing Controversy: Organizers Claim 30,000 Opposing LSTA’s “Threats And Bullying”

A campaign targeting the Lakewood Student Transportation Authority (LSTA) has ignited a wave of controversy, with organizers claiming to have rallied tens of thousands in opposition to what they describe as an effort to force families to abandon long-held yiddishe principles.

According to the campaign’s organizers, an estimated 30,000 community members have “stood strong with Daas Torah” by refusing to use the internet to submit busing registration forms—despite what they allege are “threats, bullying, and a brazen disregard for Hashem v’Toraso” by the LSTA.

The protestors claim that “countless” gedolim and roshei mosdos have personally urged the LSTA to reconsider its policies, imploring officials to halt what they call an effort to “force Klal Yisroel to compromise” on the internet restrictions established at the 2010 Citi Field Asifa. However, as of now, no gedolim or roshei mosdos have publicly voiced disapproval of the LSTA’s actions.

While the campaign’s rhetoric has gained traction, the LSTA maintains that its policies are not designed to coerce anyone into using the internet. Officials have pointed out that registration kiosks have been made available, ensuring that parents who choose not to go online can still complete the necessary forms without violating their convictions.

Meanwhile, the LSTA reminds parents that today, March 6, is the last day to fill out the necessary B6T busing forms for the 2025-2026 school year. They can be filled out by clicking this link – or by going to the LSTA’s kiosks 😊

  1. They are providing you with a kiosk and most people have access at work or can go to internet kiosk. Why give them a hard time. What sounds glamorous about this?

  2. Just wondering if the people that in the name of daas Torah will not go to the lsta to have someone fill out the forms for them, also don’t buy food in a Yiddish or goyish grocery since most likely the food only got to the store through internet use.
If this is a government mandated thing and the lsta has no way to stop it ( the owner of lsta told me he would much rather the old way this takes up a lot of time and effort on their part to help people with the paper work ) will these parents stick to their principles and pay out of pocket for transportation or drive their children to school ? If so then they have every right to protest if not it sounds like just a lot of noise

  3. stop making up stories..you make yourself totally uncredible.
they provide kiosks for those without internet
find something else to make up stories

  4. This is complete nonsense and an excuse for laziness. There is absolutely nothing wrong with going to their office and using a kiosk provided by them just like you would do to vote. FYI, the voting machines also run on internet. That the rabbanim endorse and encourage.

  5. @Let’s be honest with ourselves: Be honest with YOURself. Don’t leave your brain in neutral when you post. Shift your brain into drive.

    • You’re exactly the reason why people have issues with the frum community. It’s called…wait…coming to me slowly…tip of my tongue…ATTITUDE!
