Lakewood Approves No-Parking Zone on East End Avenue for New Turning Lane

The Lakewood Township Committee voted Thursday, December 4, to designate a new “No Parking” zone on East End Avenue between East Harvard Street and County Line Road. The restriction is intended to accommodate a recently added left-turn lane on East End Avenue, part of a traffic improvement project carried out by Ocean County.

County officials installed the turning lane at the Township’s request, aiming to improve safety and ease congestion at the busy intersection. Township officials said the no-parking designation is necessary to ensure the new lane can function safely without obstruction.

According to Committeeman Meir Lichtenstein, the initiative began after a nearby resident suggested the addition of a turning lane. Lichtenstein said the project reflects cooperation between the Township, County, and local residents to improve traffic flow and address quality-of-life concerns.
