Lakewood Approves $1.6 Million In Funding For New Hatzolah Ambulance, Police Vehicles, Drones

The Lakewood Development Corporation (LDC) on Tuesday approved resolutions to provide a total of $1.6 million in UEZ funds for the procurement of new ambulances for Hatzolah and EMS, as well as for new vehicles and equipment for the Lakewood Police Department.

The LDC approved spending $370,000 for a new ambulance for Hatzolah of Central Jersey; $290,000 for a new ambulance for Lakewood First Aid; $200,000 for a new SWAT truck for the Lakewood Police Department; $150,000 for a police mobile command center; $60,000 for two police motorcycles; $10,000 for two police electric bikes; and $65,000 for the purchase of drones and drone training for Lakewood Office of Emergency Management agencies, which include Chaveirim and Shomrim.
