In what has become a cherished tradition, Lakewood Township announced that it will once again be holding a parade on Memorial Day 2025 – Monday, May 26th.
The program will begin at 11:00 am, with the Raising of the Flag at Town Square, Clifton Avenue and Third Street. The parade will continue with a grand procession southbound on Clifton Avenue, towards the “All Wars Memorial” at North Lake Park (North Lake Drive, off Route Nine).
Deputy Mayor Menashe Miller will lead a special ceremony – including special addresses, musical tributes and a gun salute – honoring those who have made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of the United States and its citizens.
“I’ve been privileged to have a close-up view of the incredible heroism and patriotism of our men and women in uniform,” says Deputy Mayor Miller, who is a Chaplain with the U.S. Air Force. “Lakewood Township is honored to do our part to pay tribute to those who have paid the greatest price imaginable, so that we can enjoy the freedoms and prosperity of our great Nation.”
Can the Emergency departments please bring some vehicles we don’t usually see to the parade? Like the Police’s Swat trucks and the Lakewood Fire Department’s Engine 7? It will make many people happy to see them again!
