Lakewood and Ocean County Officials Mourn Passing of Shomrim Member

Officials from Lakewood and Ocean County joined today in mourning the passing of Shomrim member Shabbos Unit #57 Yeltsin Caballero.

“I was heartbroken to learn of Yeltsin’s passing. He dedicated over 5 years of his life helping to protect our community as a member of the LCSW,” said Lakewood Mayor Ray Coles. “I offer our heartfelt condolences to his family, loved ones and his brothers and sisters in the LCSW. May his memory be a blessing.”

Lakewood Police Chief Greg Meyer said: “On behalf of the men and women of the Lakewood Police Department, we offer our sincere condolences to Shomrim members and Yeltsin’s family on the sudden loss of unit 57. He was a young man who’s life was lost too soon. I remember seeing him at various events and it was always a pleasure to work with him.”

“The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office shares in your loss as working with Yeltsin was always such a pleasure. He was always willing to go the extra mile to help everyone he could. The members of our Office express our deepest sympathies to his family and his Lakewood community that he loved to serve and protect,” said Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy.
