Lakewood played host Sunday evening to a major Keren Olam HaTorah gathering, where fundraisers and supporters from across Klal Yisroel came together as the campaign neared a significant milestone in its ongoing effort to strengthen Torah learning.
During the event, Zvi Belsky, CEO of Keren Olam HaTorah, addressed the assembled Shutfei Olam HaTorah fundraisers and announced that the campaign had surpassed $11 million raised from the tzibbur, bringing it within $1 million of its ambitious $12 million public fundraising goal.
Belsky emphasized that the $11 million figure represents donations contributed by members of Klal Yisroel and is separate from the many millions of dollars being raised through major philanthropists and large donors supporting the cause.
The gathering also featured remarks from HaGaon HaRav Chaim Peretz Berman, Rosh Yeshivas Ponevezh, who addressed the crowd and encouraged continued support for Torah institutions and lomdei Torah. His words were met with enthusiasm as attendees celebrated the campaign’s progress and renewed their commitment to the mission of Keren Olam HaTorah.
Organizers expressed confidence that the campaign would reach its $12 million public fundraising target, marking another major achievement in the organization’s efforts to support the Olam Hatorah through the partnership and generosity of Klal Yisroel.
