  1. He would have the same zechus buying a 750 dollar pair of glasses for another yid that sits and learns all day but is not famus actually he lost out on the zechus for the fame that it provided

    • How do you know he doesn’t support other yidden who learn all day? This time it will make a headline because it was for a prominent and chosheve yid. Also, what “fame” did it provide? The baal chesed’s name wasn’t mentioned, and a good chance that was by his choice.

Let’s all and try to judge others as best we can.

  2. I could dozen up my זכות by spending the same amount of money to procure a dozen pair of spectacles for a dozen Rabbis &/or בני-תורה , from Zenni

  3. @Mordechai Mullins and @147 can I ask what is wrong with you? Can’t be okay with a yid doing a mitzvah? And frankly, אם בחוקתי תלכו Rashi says “עמלות”. Pretty solid bet that you’ll get that with R Sholom. The zchus each time he learns and is able to see with the glasses he has on… I’d take that 10 out of 10 times.
