Juneteenth: What’s Open, What’s Closed?

Friday marks the celebration of Juneteenth, a state and federal holiday (since 2021) commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. But unlike other state and federal holidays, there aren’t as many closures as usual.

State offices, including the DMV, courts, and all other state government offices, will be closed. Lakewood Township government offices will be closed as well.

But that’s pretty much where the closures end. Mail will be delivered as usual from all carriers, and the post office will conduct business as usual on Friday. However, USPS will be observing Juneteenth this coming Monday, with the post office closed and no mail deliveries.

Banks will be open and the stock market will trade as a regular day.
