Johnson Park Playground Completed as Part of Township-Wide Park Upgrades

A new, upgraded playground at Johnson Park is now officially open to the public, featuring a range of modern amenities and inclusive play equipment.

The newly installed playground includes a zip line, seesaw, swings, shaded play structures, and ADA-compliant features designed to accommodate children of all abilities. It is part of a broader effort by the Jackson Township Council to improve local parks and playgrounds, in part through grant funding.

The Johnson Park site joins other recently completed playground projects at the Jackson Justice Complex and Woodlane Park.

Currently, a temporary gravel walkway provides access to the playground. A permanent concrete sidewalk is expected to be installed in August. Township officials have also installed a safety fence around the area, and parents are asked to keep children off the hay-covered sections outside the fence to allow newly planted grass to take root.
