Jackson’s Rosenauer Elementary School Going Up For Bid After Sale Is Approved

The Jackson Township Board of Education has officially approved the sale of the Sylvia Rosenauer Elementary School property. The decision was outlined in a resolution passed by the Board, citing the determination that the property is no longer needed for school district purposes.

The sale of the long-serving school building is one of several measures to assist the school district, which finds itself in a deep financial hole.

Located at 60 Citadel Drive, the property includes an elementary school building with a gross floor area of 33,275 square feet, two detached modular classrooms totaling 2,620 square feet, a paved parking lot, and a large vacant area with a basketball court. The land comprises two tax lots, together totaling 7.23 acres. Additionally, the property is impacted by a 350-foot right-of-way easement to JCP&L.

The resolution, which has already been approved by the New Jersey Department of Education, grants the Board authorization to advertise the sale of the property to the highest bidder. The Board will sell the property “as is,” without any representation or warranty of any kind.

Before advertising, the Board will set a minimum price for the sale. Additionally, the Board reserves the right to either accept or reject the highest bidder.

    • Why don’t you come out and say what you want to say or don’t you have the testosterone ?

If it is going to be one of those tax-free entities as you call it, by the way your school that was there wasn’t paying much taxes either and you could look that up, that tax-free entity will be hiring people, many many people who are taxpayers. They will have taxes withheld from their payroll checks which I’m sure the township would appreciate when they get it. Having another school available will cause more people to move into Jackson thus increasing tax revenue within the township .

This should be something you would want. I never noticed those trees and grasses pay tax.
