A brand-new playground has opened at Patriots Park on Bowman Road in Jackson, marking a step forward in Jackson Township’s efforts to secure increased county support for local improvements.
For years, Jackson residents saw limited county investment in parks, roads, and other infrastructure—largely due to a lack of formal requests. That dynamic has shifted in recent years, thanks in part to proactive outreach from local officials.
Council Vice President Marty Burnstein played a key role in securing funding for the playground upgrade, informing Ocean County officials about the park’s aging equipment and advocating for its inclusion in the county’s broader recreational expansion efforts.
“This project is one example of how stronger collaboration with the County Commissioners is paying off for Jackson,” Burnstein said. “We’re making sure Jackson gets its fair share of the county tax dollars we send each year—whether it’s for playgrounds, traffic safety, or road improvements.”
Town officials say the newly installed playground is part of a growing list of upgrades made possible through the township’s improved relationship with county leadership. More projects are expected in the months ahead.
