Jackson Township officials are organizing a community-wide food and toiletries drive later this month in partnership with a local nonprofit aimed at supporting residents in need.
Mayor Jennifer Kuhn announced that the drive will be held on April 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Town Hall, in collaboration with DeBows Food Pantry. The initiative is part of an ongoing effort to provide assistance to families facing financial hardship.
Organizers are asking residents to donate non-perishable food items and essential toiletries, which will be distributed through the pantry to individuals and families in the community.
“In Jackson, we pride ourselves on being a community that truly takes care of one another,” Kuhn said in a statement, encouraging residents to participate by donating items or volunteering their time.
Volunteers are also being sought to assist with unloading vehicles and sorting donations during the event. Township officials said those interested in helping can contact the administration office for more information.
Residents with questions about donations or the pantry’s needs can also reach out directly to DeBows Food Pantry.
Local leaders say the effort reflects a broader push to strengthen community support networks and ensure resources are available to those experiencing difficult circumstances.
