Jackson Swears In 8 New Officers, Bringing Police Force to Record 120

Eight new police officers were sworn in during this week’s Jackson Township Council meeting, bringing the Jackson Police Department to its largest size in history.

Mayor Jennifer Kuhn administered the oath of office to the new hires as part of what township officials described as an ongoing effort to maintain public safety. The additions bring the department to 120 full-time sworn officers, the highest level since the agency was established in 1946.

Police Chief Mary Nelson introduced each officer during the meeting, sharing brief biographies before the formal swearing-in ceremony, which included participation from family members.

The newly sworn officers are Kaden LeTual, William Bradley, James Spampanato, Antonio Meulendyke, Michael Chmura, Dylan Rapp, Joseph Reynoso and Liam Flanigan.
