Jackson Police Log Over 5,000 Security Checks, Reports 74 Arrests In January

The Jackson Police Department has released its monthly activity report for January 2025, offering a glimpse into law enforcement efforts throughout the township. Officers responded to 785 emergency calls, conducted over 5,000 security checks, and handled 1,080 motor vehicle stops. The department reported 74 arrests, including 7 for DWI, 8 for shoplifting, 22 for theft, and 26 harassment cases. There were also 462 first aid calls and 134 alarm responses.

  • January 1 – DWI Crash and Arrest: A 23-year-old man from Hamilton crashed and overturned his car on Hyson Road, fleeing the scene on foot. Officers found him intoxicated and arrested him for DWI, leaving the scene, and failure to report an accident.
  • January 7 – Violation of Restraining Order: A 40-year-old man from Beachwood was arrested for violating a temporary restraining order after showing up uninvited to his mother’s home in Pineview Apartments.
  • January 9 – Shoplifting at Adventure Crossing: Two men stole 23 cans of Red Bull from 7-Eleven, concealing them in a shopping bag before fleeing in a 2009 Hyundai. Police are reviewing surveillance footage to identify suspects.
  • January 12 – Domestic Violence and Arrest: A 35-year-old man was arrested after allegedly harassing his ex-girlfriend at her Mallard Court residence, attempting to break in through windows and violating a restraining order.
  • January 16 – Warrant Arrest and Shelter Dispute: A 47-year-old man from Lakewood, seeking shelter assistance, was arrested after officers found he had an active contempt warrant. He was turned over to Lakewood Police.
  • January 17 – DWI and Obstruction: A 34-year-old man from Toms River was pulled over after erratic driving on White Road. Officers observed open alcohol containers in his 2004 Volkswagen Beetle. When he refused to comply with orders, he was physically removed from the vehicle and arrested for DWI, refusal to provide breath samples, and obstruction.
  • January 18 – Domestic Dispute and Assault: A 37-year-old intoxicated male was arrested after engaging in a physical dispute with his 21-year-old roommate on Elana Drive. Police responded after reports of a possible knife being involved, though no weapon was found.
  • January 19 – Aggravated Assault and Weapons Charges: A 50-year-old man was arrested after threatening his 36-year-old roommate with a kitchen knife at their Lexington Court residence. A witness corroborated the victim’s story, leading to charges of aggravated assault and unlawful possession of a weapon.
  • January 22 – Domestic Violence and Standoff: A 40-year-old man refused to exit his Susan Drive home after a domestic dispute with his wife. Officers forcibly entered the residence and arrested him for simple assault. His registered firearm was confiscated.
  • January 27 – Domestic Violence Warrant Arrest: A 28-year-old male suspect was arrested while sleeping at a Cross Street residence on an NCIC warrant for domestic violence simple assault.
  • January 28 – Animal Cruelty Arrest: A 40-year-old man was arrested on five counts of animal cruelty following an investigation into two separate incidents.
  • January 30 – Motor Vehicle Stop and Warrant Arrest: A 39-year-old Whiting man was pulled over for running a red light at Kapp’s Corner. He admitted to having a suspended license and an active warrant from Plumsted Township, leading to his arrest.
