The Jackson Township Police Department has added four new officers to its ranks following their graduation from the Monmouth County Police Academy’s 109th Class on Wednesday, officials announced.
The new officers — Patrol Officer Tristan Terranova, Patrol Officer Joseph DeRosa, Patrol Officer Jake Greene, and Patrol Officer Steven Bado — will begin a brief in-service training period before being assigned to Field Training Officers, according to the department.
Patrol Officer Tristan Terranova, badge number 357, is a lifelong Jackson resident and a 2018 graduate of Jackson Liberty High School. After attending East Carolina University, Terranova enlisted in the United States Army National Guard, where he completed Advanced Individual Training as an Honor Graduate.
During his military service, he served as a squad leader on two state active-duty missions related to hurricane and tropical storm response efforts. Terranova received multiple military commendations and earned the High Academic Award at the police academy, as well as the Military Service Achievement Award.
Patrol Officer Joseph DeRosa, badge number 358, moved to Jackson with his family in 2002 and graduated from Jackson Memorial High School in 2019. While in high school, DeRosa was a member and captain of the men’s lacrosse team. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in health science from Dominican University on a lacrosse scholarship.
Patrol Officer Jake Greene, badge number 359, is also a lifelong Jackson resident and a 2018 graduate of Jackson Liberty High School. A former student-athlete, Greene previously worked for the Jackson Township Municipal Utilities Authority, where he began in meter reading and later transitioned into the maintenance department. Police officials said his experience in municipal services contributed to his interest in public service and law enforcement.
Patrol Officer Steven Bado, badge number 360, was born in Long Branch and graduated from Jackson Memorial High School in 2022. A multi-sport athlete, Bado earned 12 varsity letters across four sports. He received a full academic and athletic scholarship to Rider University, where he competed in track and field and pursued a degree in criminal justice. He is expected to complete his bachelor’s degree this year.
