Jackson Police Department To Receive Its First K-9 Unit On Monday

The Jackson Police Department will be donated a K-9 unit on Monday by Remembering Brian Kanterman Inc, a fund whose mission it is to honor those who serve and protect by working to purchase police dogs for law enforcement agencies. The nonprofit program was established in memory of Brian Kanterman, who died in the line of duty in 2018.

In July, the Jackson Twp. Council approved  $1,054,358 to be spent on “SUVs and equipment for the K-9 program” – a program which the Jackson Police Department did not
have at the time, but will once the K-9 joins the department.

A ceremony celebrating the K-9 donation will be held at 11 AM on Monday at the Jackson Police Department.

“We are very happy to bring the Jackson Police Department and the residents of Jackson, NJ into the family of community’s helped by the RBK foundation,” the group said in a statement. “None of this would be possible without our volunteers and those who come to our fundraisers and the corporate donors.”
