The following is a sample of incidents that patrol officers recently responded to or were involved with. This does not represent all of the calls for service that were responded to during this period.
Sunday, September 1st
MV Stop/Forgery, Hindering and Obstructing:
P.O. Egan stopped a MV on Cedar Swamp Road for several MV violations and upon speaking with the driver he advised P.O. Egan that he is from “The Kingdom of Heaven” and that the laws did not pertain to him. He also claimed to be a Sovereign Citizen and provided P.O. Egan with a false name along with a fraudulent Driver’s License and Kingdom of Heaven Passport. He was arrested for the aforementioned charges and transported to Ocean County Jail.
Crisis Intervention:
P.O. Gonzalez responded to a residence on Bryant Drive, for an intoxicated male who was upset that his wife would not let him drive their son to work this evening. The intoxicated male made several suicidal statements to officers on scene which resulted him being transported to MMSC.
CDS/Possession, Drug Paraphernalia:
P.O. Mucia, P.O. Kunz and P.O. Colangelo responded to S. New Prospect Road for a motor vehicle stuck on a curb. The 28 year old male driver of the vehicle had a bag of CDS fall off his lap while exiting the vehicle, in plain view of officers on scene. The driver was placed under arrest by P.O. Mucia. After searching the driver, more CDS and drug paraphernalia was found in his possessions. He was transported to Jackson Police Department and released on a summons.
Monday, September 2nd
MV Crash/ Leaving the Scene with serious injuries/Failure to report accident:
P.O. Lauria and P.O. Egan responded to Collier Mills wildlife management area after receiving a call that a dodge pickup truck was found crashed and abandoned. Upon arrival Officers observed a large amount of blood and hair inside the abandoned vehicle. The vehicle’s tags had been removed from the vehicle. Officers conducted a look up of the VIN and located the 25 year old male registered owner, who admitted to being the driver of the vehicle. It was discovered there were three additional occupants at the time of the crash. The driver and occupants all self-transported to different area hospitals for their injuries. The driver of the vehicle was given multiple MV summons in additional to criminal complaints for failing to report the accident which resulted in serious injuries to one occupant. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Tuesday, September 3rd
Hindering:
P.O. Olejarz, P.O. Gladysz and P.O. Lopez responded to a residence on Savannah Road for a dispute over the purchase of a cell phone. Officers learned that two Ewing residents traveled to Savannah Road to purchase a cellphone from Facebook marketplace. Upon completing the transaction the Ewing residents attempted to activate the phone and discovered the device was locked out and unable to be used. The Ewing residents returned to Savannah Road to confront the individual that sold them the phone at which time Officers received a call for the dispute. Officers attempted to identify the 20-year-old male resident who provided them with a false name. He was placed under arrest for Hindering.
Sunday, September 8th
MV Stop / Warrant Arrest:
P.O. Roth conducted a MV Stop on E Veterans Highway. Upon running the driver’s DL it was discovered he had 2 outstanding warrants out of Brick, NJ. The driver was placed under arrest, transported and processed.
Monday, September 9th
Dispute / Simple Assault:
P.O. Gonzalez and P.O. Trasky responded to Prospect Pointe Apartments for a dispute. Upon speaking with the involved parties it was determined that the male and female had a dating relationship. The male half struck the female half with a door, causing injuries to her hand. The male half was placed under arrest for Simple Assault. The female half was discovered to have 3 outstanding warrants out of Jackson, Freehold and Millstone Townships. She was also placed under arrest for those outstanding warrants.
Tuesday, September 10th
MV Stop / Warrant Arrest:
P.O. Reiff conducted a MV Stop on Brewers Bridge. Upon running the drivers DL it was discovered he had 2 outstanding warrant out of Neptune and Brick Township’s. The driver was placed under arrest, transported and processed.
Monday, September 16th
Shoplifting:
P.O. Zak responded to the BP Gas Station, located on Bennetts Mills Road, for a report of a shoplifting. Store personnel reported that an adult aged male was observed taking items from front counter and placing them in a black colored plastic bag, then exit store without paying for items. Total value of items taken were estimated to be approximately $145.00. The incident was captured on store surveillance. Suspect has not been identified as of this writing.
Warrant Arrest:
P.O. Kokich, attempted Warrant Service on a 49 year old male subject, at an address on Georgian Boulevard. Subject in question was located and placed under arrest, without incident. Male subject later posted cash bail and was released.
Warrant Arrest:
P.O. Reale and P.O. Hanson, attempted Warrant Service on a 42 year old female subject, at a residence location, located within the Pleasant Gardens residential Complex. Subject in question was located and placed under arrest, without incident. After being transported to police headquarters, female subject posted cash bail on multiple warrants, being released after.
Tuesday, September 17th
Warrant Arrest/Obstruction/Resisting:
While on patrol within the Three Pence Brook Condominium Residential Complex, P.O. Nagel observed a 35 year old male subject, known to currently have a warrant for his arrest. After observing subject, P.O. Nagel called P.O. DeBlasi for assistance. After being noticed, the male subject retreated in to a residence. He was later observed within residence, securing himself in same, locking rear sliding glass door, refusing Officer Commands to exit residence after being informed of warrant. After some deliberation, subject decided to unlock door, where he was then placed under arrest for warrant mentioned, without further incident. Subject was additionally charged with Obstruction and Resisting Arrest. After transport to headquarters and processing, subject was released ROR on existing warrant and issued summons for additional charges.
Dispute/Simple Assault:
P.O. Moore and P.O. Olejarz responded to a residence on Georgian Boulevard, for a dispute between a 38 year old female and 44 year old male. On scene investigation resulted in the arrest of the male subject for Simple Assault. Male subject was placed under arrest, without incident and after processing was released on complaint summons with a future court date.
Tuesday, September 19th
Dispute/Simple Assault:
P.O. Zak, and other Officers were dispatched to an address on Toms River Road for a physical dispute between a 60 year old male resident and a 63 year old male resident. On scene investigation resulted in the arrest of the 63 year old male subject for Simple Assault. Male subject was placed under arrest, without incident. During processing, male subject complained of chest pains. After said complaint, male subject was promptly provided medical attention, which led to his transport to a medical facility. Upon release from said medical facility, male subject was transported to Ocean County Jail, relative to this matter.
Theft:
P.O. Kozna, was dispatched to an address on Freehold Road, for a report of Theft. The 46 year old female victim further reported a package, just after being delivered by a Fed Ex truck to be stolen from her front porch. The package taken contained three (3) items, totaling approximately $2,517.00. Further investigation discovered Suspect in this matter to be an adult aged male passenger in a dark blue vehicle, which had been traveling behind Fed Ex truck. No further suspect, and/or suspect vehicle information known as of this writing.
Monday, September 23
Burglary to MV/Theft:
P.O. Cilento was dispatched to HQ lobby, to speak to a 23 year old female Teakwood Drive resident, regarding a burglary to, and theft from a motor vehicle. Victim reported that on 09/20/2024, she left her vehicle parked, in front of residence, and unlocked, during a six hour time frame. Victim later received a message her debit card was being utilized at locations, unknown to her, for unwarranted purchases. Victim made contact with one of the store locations that provided a physical description of a possible suspect, however pedigree of suspect is unknown, as of this writing.
Burglary to MV/Theft:
P.O. Kozna was dispatched to an address on Vermont Avenue, for a burglary to, and theft from a motor vehicle that occurred several days prior. A 36-year-old male resident and a 34-year-old female resident reported that several days prior, upon entering their vehicle, they observed interior of vehicle to be in disarray, in addition to a canceled credit card missing. Further investigation revealed no forced entry was observed to victim’s vehicle, with no suspect information known as of this writing. Several other nearby residents incurred similar incidents to their property around same time frame.
Thursday, September 26
Obstruction:
P.O. Hanson, while on patrol on West Veterans Highway, conducted a MV-Stop, on a 2021 black colored motor cycle, being operated by a 21 year old male resident for various equipment and safety violations observed. Upon making contact with the male operator, informing reason of MV-Stop, and request for driving credentials, the male subject refused to produce same. After another attempt at requesting the male subject’s driver’s license and to identify him further, he continued fail to produce any identification. Subsequent investigation led to the male subject being placed under arrest for Obstruction. Male Subject was placed under arrest without incident. Subject was later released on a complaint summons and issued several motor vehicle summons, all with a future court date.
Warrant Arrest:
P.O. McIvor was dispatched to a location within the Colonial Arms Apartment, for a disturbance. While responding it was learned that the male party had left the area in a red colored Honda. With information in hand, P.O. McIvor was able to locate the male and vehicle on Cedar Swamp Road. Further investigation revealed the male subject had gotten in to a verbal argument with a girlfriend, prompting male subject to leave. Male subject was also discovered to have two warrants for his arrest out of another jurisdiction. He was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to headquarters. Male subject, in default of bail, was then turned over to appropriate jurisdiction, who then transported male subject to Monmouth County jail.
DWI:
P.O.Twining, along with members of Jackson First-Aid, were dispatched to the intersection of 4th Street and South Street, located within the Southwind Mobile Home community, for a report of a male subject who had been passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle. Upon awaking the male, further investigation was conducted, in the form of several Field Sobriety tests. After attempting to perform, and failing said tests, male subject was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. An intoxicant search of subject’s vehicle, uncovered a powdery substance in plastic baggie, in addition to an opened bottle of alcohol. After processing, male subject was released on several motor vehicle summonses and a complaint summons for criminal offense, with a future court date.
Violation of Protection Order:
P.O. White, P.O. Moore, and P.O. Colangelo, were dispatched to an address on Rita Lane, for a report of a violation of a protection order. While in route to victim’s address, a vehicle that was known to be vehicle of the suspect, was observed, then stopped by P.O. Colangelo with assistance from Sgt. Basso on Bennetts Mills Road. Upon contact with suspect, he was advised to exit his vehicle and would be place under arrest for the order he had violated. Male subject was placed under arrest without incident. After processing, male subject was transported to Ocean County Jail.
