Jackson Police Department Introduces New Officers, Promotes Seven Others [PHOTOS]

The Jackson Police Department is pleased to announce the promotion of seven officers and the introduction of two new full-time police officers.

Promotions:

– Lieutenant George Vidalis (#251) to Captain
– Sergeant Michael Friedman (#262) to Lieutenant
– Sergeant Fred Meabe (#230) to Lieutenant
– Police Officer Jeff Henba to Sergeant
– Police Officer Michael Basso (#284) to Sergeant
– Police Officer Michael Cocchiara to Sergeant
– Police Officer Robert Gravina (#298) to Sergeant

New Hires:

– Police Officer Bradley Bonito (#353)
– Police Officer Trevor Fox (#354)

Captain George Vidalis, a Jackson Township native and 1986 graduate of Jackson Memorial High School, has served the department for over 19 years, holding various positions and receiving multiple awards.

Lieutenant Michael Friedman, a military veteran, brings over 20 years of law enforcement experience, including service with the NJDOC and DOD Police.

Lieutenant Fred Meabe, a Jackson Memorial High School graduate, has served the department for over 21 years, with experience in the Patrol Division, Special Response Team, and Ocean County Prosecutors Office.

Sergeant Jeff Henba, a Jackson Township native and 1999 graduate of Jackson Memorial High School, has served the department for over 17 years, receiving multiple awards and serving as PBA President.

Sergeant Michael Basso, a Jackson resident and Marine Corps veteran, has served the department for over 7 years, holding various positions and receiving multiple awards.

Sergeant Michael Cocchiara, a Jackson resident and Army Reserves Sergeant, has served the department for over 6 years, with experience in the Uniformed Services Division and DEA Task Force.

Sergeant Robert Gravina, a Jackson Liberty High School graduate, has served the department for over 4 years, receiving multiple awards and serving as a field training officer.

Police Officer Bradley Bonito, a Freehold Township High School graduate, brings over 2 years of law enforcement experience and is currently attending Stockton University.

Police Officer Trevor Fox, a Barnegat High School graduate, brings experience from Long Beach Township Police Department and completed the Ocean County Academy Special class 52.
