Jackson Police Blotter: November Highlights

The following is a summary of notable incidents reported by Jackson Police during November 2024.

Friday, November 1
Resisting Arrest, Obstruction, Disorderly Conduct
Location: Savannah Road
Officers responded to a report of a large fight at a residence. The altercation had dispersed upon arrival, but an 18-year-old female and a 19-year-old male refused repeated instructions to leave. The female became confrontational and refused arrest, retreating to a vehicle. The male interfered, creating a physical barrier. Both were arrested, charged, and released on complaint summonses. The homeowner received a summons for maintaining a nuisance.

Saturday, November 2
Shoplifting, Hindering Apprehension
Location: N. County Line Road
Officers apprehended a 38-year-old male for shoplifting at Shoprite, along with a 36-year-old female accomplice for hindering apprehension and outstanding warrants. Both were processed and transported to Ocean County Jail (OCJ). The female was later found to have concealed pills, leading to additional charges filed by OCJ staff.

Wednesday, November 6
Domestic Violence, Harassment, Weapons Possession
Location: Hyson Road
Following an altercation between a husband and wife, officers arrested the husband after reviewing video evidence. Brass knuckles were found during a search. He was charged with harassment and possession of prohibited weapons and released on a summons.

Sunday, November 10
Overdose Death
Location: Monmouth Road
A 30-year-old male was found deceased in his vehicle, surrounded by drug paraphernalia, including syringes and suspected heroin. The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office (OCPO), Detective Bureau (DB), and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) teams are investigating.

Saturday, November 16
Driving While Intoxicated, Hindering Apprehension
Location: Crescent Avenue
Officers responded to a single-vehicle accident. A 45-year-old woman initially claimed responsibility but was found to be covering for her intoxicated 48-year-old husband, who was identified as the driver. Both were arrested. The husband faced multiple charges, including DWI and leaving the scene, while his wife was charged with hindering. Both were processed and released under John’s Law.

Sunday, November 17
Motor Vehicle Accident, Hindering Apprehension
Location: Farmingdale Road
A burning vehicle was found abandoned in the woods. Officers traced it to a residence and encountered a male who provided false information. He was arrested for hindering. The investigation identified the driver, a 25-year-old woman, who was issued summonses for leaving the scene and driving without a valid license.

Thursday, November 21
Driving While Intoxicated, CDS Possession
Location: Patterson Road
A 36-year-old woman was found unconscious behind the wheel of a stopped vehicle. After failing sobriety tests, she was arrested. A search uncovered CDS and paraphernalia. She was charged with multiple offenses, including possession of CDS and DWI, and released on a summons.

Friday, November 22
Domestic Violence, Terroristic Threats
Location: Basso Street
A 23-year-old male threatened his roommate with a knife following an altercation. Officers arrested the suspect, who admitted to the threats. The victim obtained a temporary restraining order. The suspect was charged with terroristic threats and unlawful possession of a weapon and transported to Ocean County Jail.

Sunday, November 24
Domestic Violence, Simple Assault
Location: West Commodore Boulevard
Officers arrested a 45-year-old male for assaulting a 41-year-old female victim, who showed visible injuries. The victim was granted a restraining order. The suspect was charged with simple assault and transported to Ocean County Jail.

Monday, November 25
Warrant Service
Location: West Lake Mews
Officers arrested a 41-year-old male on outstanding warrants totaling $45,695.04, including a local contempt warrant. He was processed and transported to Ocean County Jail in default of bail.
