The Jackson Township Planning Board unanimously approved plans Monday night for the construction of a new shul and mikvah building by Bais Medrash Ohev Yisroel.
The full conforming application located near the Lakewood/Jackson border on North Hope Chapel, will feature a 17,076-square-foot facility, including a 3,000-square-foot bais medrash, a smaller 700-square-foot second bais medrash, a rav’s office, coffee room, and otzar on the main floor.
On the second floor there will be a 1,500-square-foot ezras nashim and a shiur room, while the basement will feature a mikvah and a nearly 3,000-square-foot simcha hall, as well as a warming kitchen.
The approved site plan includes 113 off-street parking spaces to accommodate congregants. The property is situated within the R-3 Zoning District, which permits houses of worship.
