Jackson Mills Fire Company To Host Family-Friendly Fire Prevention Open House On Sunday

The Jackson Mills Volunteer Fire Company #1 is set to host its annual Fire Prevention Open House on Sunday, October 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their firehouse located at 465 North County Line Road. The event, designed to promote fire safety awareness, is free and open to the public, offering a variety of family-friendly activities.

Attendees can look forward to an exciting lineup of events, including a bounce house, hayrides, and the chance to explore fire and EMS vehicles up close. A highlight of the day will be a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter on-site, allowing visitors a unique opportunity to view it firsthand.

In addition to fun activities, the open house will feature hands-on fire prevention training, including a “Put Out the Fire” demonstration where participants can learn how to extinguish small fires safely. Children’s t-shirts will be given out, and food and refreshments such as hot dogs and ice cream will be available throughout the day. Live music will provide entertainment as families enjoy the event.

For those interested in joining the ranks of volunteer firefighters, the Jackson Mills Volunteer Fire Company will be offering information on how to become a member during the open house.

This community-focused event is a great opportunity for residents to learn about fire safety, meet local firefighters, and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon. All are welcome to attend.
