Jackson Kicks Off 2024 Rova Farms Redevelopment Project

Jackson Township Mayor Michael Reina announced the official 2024 kickoff of the Rova Farms redevelopment project. This project will convert the existing abandoned former site of Rova Farms, an historic and culturally important piece of Jackson’s history into a state of the art passive recreation area.

The site will include beautiful parkscaping, lighted waterfront walking path, a fishing pier, outdoor picnic pavilion, walking paths, scenic overlook, playground and kayak launch.

“We are getting ready to get shovels in the ground to begin the next phase of this historically important project here in Jackson,” Mayor Reina said. “It has been a labor of love for several years between myself, our esteemed council, and the residents of Jackson who have helped us get to where we are today.”

All of the former abandoned structures have been removed from the property and the township has tasked Morgan Engineering, whose team includes Brian Quinn and Mathew Wilder ( who is a lifelong Jackson resident) and have decades of construction and engineering experience under their belts.

“The park’s initial concept is beautiful with a lighted tree-lined walking path lined with park benches overlooking the lake,” said Board liaison Council President Jennifer Kuhn. “This project is important to me and I am very excited that we’re ready for the next step in making this dream become a reality for the residents of Jackson and to continue the legacy of Rova Farms for future generations to enjoy.”

Board Liaison Councilman Mordechai Burnstein said the past few years have seen a lot of work from the administration, Council and Department of Public works to get to this point, but he is looking forward to the completion of the project.
