The Jackson Jewish Community Council (JJCC) has released a letter announcing which schools will be receiving busing this coming year:
Dear Jackson Community, We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Jackson Mayor Mike Reina and Council, the Jackson Board of Education, specifically Superintendent Nicole Pormilli and BA Dan Biginski, for partnering with the LSTA to handle private school busing needs.
Thanks to the BOE’s historic decision and the LSTA’s herculean efforts, the LSTA has successfully placed close to 3,000 private school children on buses for the upcoming school year. To put this in perspective, less than 500 children were placed on buses through the Board of Education last year. In an effort to accommodate even more students, the LSTA has re-bid the remaining routes, hoping to include additional children. The results of this bid will be available by July 31st.
Starting the week of August 1st, the LSTA and/or the schools will begin notifying parents about their children’s transportation status for the next school year. Please allow them the opportunity to make the necessary notifications before reaching out to them.
Parents of children not yet placed will have the option to contribute additional funds to secure transportation.
The following schools have been fully accommodated, with some exceptions: Bais Bracha, Bais Faiga Hachadash, Bais Faiga Gratter, Bais Faiga, Bais Hachinuch Lbanos, Bnos Bracha, Bnos Melech, Bnos Tzippa, Bnos Yaakov Elementary, Lakewood Cheder, Shiras Chaim, Ohr Shraga, Ohr Hatorah, Toras Ahron, Toras Menachem, Yeshiva Ktana.
