Jackson Township has implemented a new temporary traffic striping and roadway pattern including designated turning at the intersection of Louisiana Parkway and South New Prospect, installed last week as part of ongoing roadway improvement efforts.
The current striping configuration is temporary and will remain in place while the roadway undergoes a settlement period following the removal of traffic islands in the area. This process allows the pavement to stabilize prior to final resurfacing.
The Township’s contractor, Meco, is scheduled to return in early spring, weather permitting, to mill and repave the affected roadway. At that time, permanent striping will be installed. The temporary configuration allows Township officials to evaluate traffic flow and make any necessary adjustments before final markings are applied.
These roadway improvements are part of continued efforts by Mayor Jennifer Kuhn and the Township Council to enhance roadway infrastructure and improve the safety of motorists, pedestrians, and all residents throughout Jackson Township.
Residents are advised to use caution when traveling through the area and to follow all posted traffic markings during this temporary phase. The Township appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation as these improvements move forward.
