Jackson Fire: 250-300 Acres Burned, Road Closures and Smoke Persist

The Shotgun Fire, which began earlier this week in Jackson, has burned approximately 175 acres, with estimates now projecting the total burned area to reach 250 to 300 acres. Firefighters have made significant progress in containing the blaze, although smoky conditions are expected to persist for an extended period.

As of now, there have been no reports of injuries, property damage, or animal casualties. Local authorities lifted evacuation orders at 9:00 PM last night, allowing residents to return to their homes, though they are advised to exercise caution due to the ongoing smoke.

South Stump Tavern Road remains closed until at least 6:00 PM today, with the closure contingent upon improving conditions.

Chaveirim of Central Jersey has been actively involved in supporting firefighting efforts, providing light towers to assist crews working into the night.
