A construction worker was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured at around 6:30 AM Tuesday morning, as work began on water main repairs on East Veterans Highway.
The injured worker was treated at the scene by EMS and transported to a hospital for further treatment.
East Veterans Highway will be closed all day between Whitesville and Hope Chapel Road as work continues.
