Jackson And Toms River Announce Biur Chometz Sites

The Jackson Jewish Community Council (JJCC) has announced four designated chometz burning sites in Jackson.

The chometz burning sites will be operational on Friday, April 11, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the following locations in Jackson:

  • Larson Road Fire House – 113 N New Prospect Road
  • Johnson Memorial Park – 192 Kierych Memorial Drive
  • Royal Grove Shul – 518 E Veterans Highway
  • Rosenauer Elementary School – 60 Citadel Drive

Community members are reminded not to bring cans or bottles to be burned, as these items pose safety risks.

The JJCC expressed its gratitude to Jackson Mayor Michael Reina, Jackson Township DPW, Police and Fire Departments, the Board of Fire Commissioners, the Bureau of Fire Safety, and other local officials for making these arrangements possible.

For those needing to dispose of bulky waste materials outside of chometz burning, the Jackson Township Transfer Station (40 Don Connor Blvd) will be accepting drop-offs Friday through Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, Toms River will also offer two chometz burning locations:

  • Toms River Fire Academy – 1780 Church Road
  • Riverwood Park – Riverwood Drive off Whitesville Road
